Up there with theeRR

The world looks the same as it did yesterday, The cars still drive by and the children still play.I walk down the street and the autumn leaves fall,But something has shifted inside of it all. 'Cause Heaven gets closer when someone you loveIs watching you walk from the windows above. The earth feels a little more fleeting and brief,And scars lose their sting through the tears and the grief.Oh, this world isn't home, but it's clearer to me: Life is different when family is up there with Thee. I look at the clouds and I wonder just whatThey see in the light of that glorious spot.Do they sing with the angels and look down and smile,And wait for the rest of us here for a while? It used to feel distant, a mystical place,Now heaven feels like a familiar embrace.Cause Heaven gets closer when someone you loveIs watching you walk from the windows above. The earth feels a little more fleeting and brief,And scars lose their sting through the tears and the grief.Oh, this world isn't home, but it's clearer to me:Life is different when family is up there with Thee. It turns every eye to the maker of grace,It puts all our troubles and trials in place. We’re just passing through on our way to the door,Where parting and crying will happen no more.I’m running the race with my eyes on the prize,'Cause love has a face in the eternal skies. 'Cause Heaven gets closer when someone you loveIs watching you walk from the windows above. The earth feels a little more fleeting and brief,And scars lose their sting through the tears and the grief.Oh, this world isn't home, but it's clearer to me:Life is different when family is up there with Thee. Up there with Thee.Just waiting for me.The journey is short, and the story is grace.I’ll see you again in that holy place.Amen.
